Exploring the Land of the Midnight Sun / Tony Sweet
Tony Sweet is a professional fine art photographer, lecturer, author, educator, and workshop instructor. As an instructor, Tony's goal is to help the student produce images that are beyond mere travel photography, entering into the realm of fine art, expressing the unique vision that lies within all of us. Aside from traveling the countryside, we will have class time where the use of plug ins and easy photoshop optimizations will be discussed and illustrated in terms of transforming the image beyond the capture. At this time of year, it never gets totally dark, so we may have the unique opportunity to catch a sunset and sunrise during a single outing. We will travel depending on the weather conditions through a kaleidoscope of terrain from lush green to barren, rock strewn areas, to glaciers. Dramatic Iceland: Creating the Expressive Photograph / Brenda Tharp
In this workshop, participants will be immersed in an exhilarating environment and be guided by Brenda on how to interpret the scene before them. The workshop will focus on creative vision, how to make expressive images of what we see. Brenda will discuss the creative process, from seeing to translating that vision into the final image, and guide you in taking your photography to the next level. Key topics of composition, creating visual depth, utilizing nature's design, and applying expressive techniques will provide the basis for learning how to create more expressive images. Additional software techniques will be covered that complement the creative in-camera process. "Gaining a deeper connection to the land is paramount to making meaningful, expressive photographs. Iceland's dramatic landscapes of glaciers, icebergs, waterfalls, rugged coastline, and volcanic regions provide endless opportunity to create the dynamic nature image. "Brenda is an acclaimed instructor known for her honest and helpful critiques. Creating Killer Images in Iceland / Seth Resnick
Seth Resnick, chosen as one of the 30 most influential photographers of the decade by Photo District News Magazine, is one of North America's most prolific corporate, editorial and stock photographers, greatly in demand for his beautiful graphic images. In addition to his many photographic project, Seth has been an imaginative innovator with digital technologies in the changing world of photography, and knows first hand how important the development and implementation of the proper workflow can be for all photographers. While anyone can shoot a picture, few can bring back images that last the test of time. "I want you to see what's in my mind's eye, which you wouldn't see if you were standing next to me. Strong colors and strong graphics always appeal to me. I like to take things that you maybe pass by every day and show you what you missed. The fascinating part of being a photographer is seeing every type of lifestyle and every type of environment, then reducing it to just one or two images. "Join Seth shooting from before sunrise to well after Sunset producing graphic color imagery and pushing the limits of possibility with Iceland's incredible people and landscapes. The workshop will be a graceful balance between crating stunning imagery in the field and learning the necessary tools to finish the images in Lightroom and Photoshop.
